Southern California Edison Company and Matrix Energy Services, Inc. Launch Escalator Power Efficiency Motor Efficiency Controller Program to Provide Free Energy Saving Controllers

Sacramento, California, February 13, 2007 - Matrix Energy Services, Inc. (Matrix ESI) is working with Southern California Edison Company (SCE) to implement the Escalator Power Efficiency Motor Efficiency Controller Program in 2007, under SCE’s Innovative Design for Energy Efficiency (InDEE) Programs. InDEE programs provide assistance for the commercialization of promising new technologies and technology delivery approaches, and provide the opportunity to mainstream them into SCE’s overall portfolio of proven, successful and reliable energy efficiency programs.

Through the Escalator Power Efficiency Motor Efficiency Controller Program, Matrix ESI will facilitate the installation of the Power Efficiency Motor Efficiency Controller controller on commercial escalators in SCE’s territory. The Power Efficiency Motor Efficiency Controller controller is a promising technology that reduces the escalator’s energy consumption without stopping or reducing the speed of the escalator. Through this program, Matrix ESI will provide free controller units on a first-come-first-serve basis to commercial establishments willing to participate in the program and fund the installation. Matrix ESI intends to work with escalator service companies to market this program to operators of commercial establishments in SCE’s territory.

About Power Efficiency Corporation
Power Efficiency Corporation (OTCBB: PEFF) develops and markets advanced energy saving technologies for electric motors, including the Power Efficiency Motor Efficiency Controller. The Company’s first product is an energy saving soft start. The product gradually brings an electric motor from rest to full speed. Once at full speed, the Company’s patented technology works like cruise control for a car; it delivers the motor just enough electricity to maintain a constant operating speed, whether the motor is heavily or lightly loaded. The technology saves energy on motors found in applications such as escalators, elevators, grinders, granulators, mixers, saw mills and more. Energy savings from these controllers are typically 20-40%. The controllers also reduce the operating heat of the motor, producing significant motor life extension and downtime reduction benefits. Power Efficiency’s products are CE Marked and CSA certified. The Company is also developing products to reduce the amount of electricity used by appliances and light commercial equipment.
