Power Efficiency Corp. Updates Industrial Rep Network Development Including First Rep Sale

LAS VEGAS, NV, November 11, 2009 --(BUSINESS WIRE) -- Power Efficiency Corporation (OTCBB: PEFF - News), a clean tech company focused on efficiency technologies for electric motors, has nearly completed its network of independent sales representatives focused on the U.S. and Canadian industrial markets. The Company has also booked the first sale through this network, which was a three-phase controller for a 150-horsepower animal feed shredder.

Steve Strasser, CEO of Power Efficiency, said, “The development of this rep network is important for growing sales in the industrial market. The Company’s most mature market is sales for escalators and elevators, and we have recently signed two OEM deals in that market, but we believe the industrial market has many more applications and is a far larger opportunity for the Company in the long run.”

“This first sale through the rep network is important for two reasons. First, it illustrates that the individuals and organizations we put together in our sales rep network have hit the ground running and we can expect revenue through the reps to begin in the fourth quarter and grow in coming quarters. Second, this sale demonstrates the wide variety of applications for our controllers in the industrial market.  Animal feed shredders do not have much in common with elevators and escalators, but they can operate more efficiently and economically with our controllers.”

Mr. Strasser added, “We are continuing to expand our industrial sales rep network.  The role of our representatives is to act as surrogates for a direct sales person.  They will be responsible for generating sales to OEMs and supporting local distributors.  As of today, we have signed contracts with 13 organizations that combined have more than 60 outside sales people who are highly experienced, professional sales engineers with deep experience in motor control technologies.  We now cover 39 of the 50 states and all of Canada.”

Mr. Strasser concluded, “With our rep network nearly finished, we are now beginning to assemble a distributor network.  We will be working closely with our reps to identify and engage distributors in the reps’ respective geographic territories.  Our distributor network will be responsible for generating and servicing end users and small OEM businesses.  The reps will assist us in providing the distributors with training and ongoing sales support.”
